12 Hours of Post Canyon

WHEN: Saturday June 15, 2024; 7am - 7pm

12 Hours of Post Canyon is a grass roots community event where friends ride Hood River's Post Canyon trail network.  While not a race, individuals and teams complete as many laps on the course as possible in the twelve hour time limit (course changes every year).  This began in 2013 when my wife asked me what I wanted for Father's Day and I said "I want to ride bikes with my family & friends and have a BBQ"  it has now evolved into a fun community event for the Hood River community (cyclist and families).  With the help of our friends and their local businesses (listed below), there is no charge to any of the riders.  With our sponsor friends help we have breakfast, lunch, dinner and the coveted 12 Hours of Post Canyon shirts.  Staging out of Family Man has also encouraged even the non-cyclists in our families to be a part of this.

 
 

Course Map

The course changes slightly each year depending on trail conditions but is generally a 13 mile loop around the Post Canyon trail system.  Specific routes will be determined the week of the event.  The typical loop will take riders from Post Canyon Road up Seven Streams to Family Man, through Spaghetti Factory and over Mitchell Ridge.  All riders follow the same route that will be well marked.
